Finishing Strong #111

January 25, 2017

Welcome to Finishing Strong ~ a weekly link-up dedicated to families homeschooling middle & high school kids. Each Wednesday, moms just like you share their best tips, encouragement, advice, and more for teaching older kids at home.

Finishing Strong is hosted by me here at EvaVarga along with my friends – Heather from Blog She Wrote, Megan and Susan from Education Possible, and Heidi from Starts at Eight.

Finishing Strong #111 - Inspiration and Motivation for those Homeschooling Teens @EvaVarga.netWe hope you’ll take some time to check out the amazing posts that have been shared with us. We are so thankful to all of our readers and contributors who help make Finishing Strong a key resource for everyone homeschooling through the middle & high school years.

Below are some of the posts I enjoyed from last week, as well as the one that received the most clicks (in the #1 spot). Did I choose one of your favorites?

Favorite Middle School Posts The post that received the most clicks last week was Heidi’s Favorite Homeschool Middle School Posts at Starts at Eight. Organized by subject area, you’ll surely find a few posts of interest.

“altWe love to travel and in doing so, have always taken advantage of every learning moment. I thereby enjoyed Aurie’s post, How to Homeschool at Disney World shared at iHomeschool Network. She shares tips for each of the four parks, as she says, “each park offers it’s own special way to learn.”

Timely Wisdom from MLKAnother of my favorite posts this past week was Timely Wisdom from Martin Luther King from Susan at The Sparrow’s Home. With the recent political climate, the ability to debate well and listen to alternative points of view is of increasing importance. I have been working with my kiddos to develop their rhetorical skills and I appreciated the wisdom Susan gleaned from MLK’s speeches.
