The Story of Religion
by Betsy and Giulio Maestro
An illustrated synopsis of the genesis and basic ideas of each of the world’s major religions, as well as of some minor ones. An appendix in the back lists the sacred books, the major festivals & holidays, and an interesting compilation of the various renderings of the Golden Rule, a form of which exists in almost all systems of belief. As we are a secular homeschool, reading this book coordinated well with our history studies and helped to strengthen our understanding of the world. We recommend it to anyone desiring to know a little more about the foundations and beliefs of the worlds religions.

we picked up this book at the library, and then I am ashamed to say it got forgotten in the basket…and then it was due!
I am happy to know it is worth getting out again.
thank you for sharing.

I’m gonna put this on my library list. Alex’s montessori school is very diverse and she’s always asking questions as they celebrate many different religious holidays, and I haven’t a clue about most of them.
