I have been listening to the #soldastory podcast a I have been listening to the #soldastory podcast all weekend. I am absolutely floored! My teaching ELA textbooks in college were published by Heinemann. However, I was hired as a science specialist after graduation and never actually taught children to read until I had my own and made the decision to homeschool. Now, as an #esl or #esolteacher I am diving in and learning so much about the #scienceofreading. Fascinating!

Posted @withrepost • @illuminative 🔔 ACTION N Posted @withrepost • @illuminative 🔔 ACTION NEEDED 🔔 On Nov. 9, the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments on the constitutionality of the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) — a 44-year-old law that was put into place to address the systemic removal of Native children from their families, communities, and culture.

If the Supreme Court decided to dismantle ICWA, it would have devastating effects not only on Native children and communities but for Tribes’ inherent right to self-govern and determine what is best for their citizens.

There is still time to be heard!

We encourage you to learn more about ICWA and join us in taking action leading up to and on the day of the Supreme Court hearing on Nov. 9. #LinkInBio
